Obtaining Utility Services is one of the first things you will need to do when you relocate to Carroll County.
The following companies list their services and policies for acquiring connection.

To obtain service you will need two forms of identification (Driver's License and Social Security Card). If you own your home you must show proof of ownership. The deposit cost is $175 for renters and $20 for homeowners. There is a $25 Service Charge on each.

To obtain service you will need two forms of identification. If you own your home you must show proof of ownership. The cost is $50 for homeowners, this is a non-refundable connection fee. For renters the charge is $125 deposit and a $50 connection fee totaling $175. Commercial connections are calculated individually.

To obtain service you will need to contact dealer for information on tank rentals and set-up fees. Lewis Gas is the only full-service propane dealer in the county and offers a 24 hour-7 days a week service. Tank rentals, gas appliances, residential and commercial.

First Time License Applicant: You will need to bring your Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, SF-1010 form from school,
a parent to sign for you; two proofs of residency (parent's driver's license and school form for person under the age of 18.

Out-of-State License Applicant: You will need to bring your Driver's License from the state in which you moved from and
two proofs of residency (utility bill, etc.).

The Carroll County Mayor, County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Assessor of Property, Election Commission, and the County Trustee offices are located and all permits and licenses can be obtained at the:

New car tags:
You will need your out-of-state title, mileage for 1993 and newer models; proof you have paid Sales Tax in the state in which you moved from. This includes in-state and out-of-state car tags.

County Business License: You will need the name and address of your business and the business type. The cost for new business license is $20 fro the first year and each year thereafter will be based on actual sales receipts. Most incorporated townships also require a separate business license, contact your local City Hall for more information on local licenses.

Marriage License: If you are 18 years of age or older you will need proof of age, Driver's License and a Social Security Card.

Pet License & Vaccinations: Pets must be vaccinated for rabies and wear registration tags at all times, also most townships have 'Leash Laws' in effect. Vaccinations may be obtained through your local veterinarian or contact the Carroll County Humane Society, 731-352-9950 for more information.

To register to vote you must be at least 18 years of age.  You will need a signature form of identification such as Driver's License or Social Security Card.  You must be a US citizen, and you cannot have been convicted of a felony; if you have been, you must have you rights restored.
