Carroll County Education has something to be proud of,
The County Education Systems have been honored by being recognized as achieving exceptional advancements above schools all across Tennessee and the U.S. in several categories, we applaud the students and teachers that made the extra efforts to go beyond the educational norms of public education.
 

West Carroll Junior High School earned first place in the middle school category for West Tennessee for their Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System (TVAAS) scores, which measure the amount of gain students achieve in an academic year. Schools in which students show the greatest annual gains in reading and math earn the highest value-added scores. Eighteen high-performing schools across the state of Tennessee were recognized.

Huntingdon High School was named among the nation's best in an article that appeared in US. News and World Report. The magazine viewed 18,790 high schools across the nation, including 311 in Tennessee. Only thirty-two high schools in Tennessee were recognized, of which Huntingdon was one. The schools were analyzed based on academic and enrollment data.

In March, Bethel College received a $500,000 donation from Jim and Janet Ayers of the Ayers Foundation. The endowment will go toward the construction of a new science building on the campus, which will be an addition to the current Odom Hall that will also be renovated. More than $2.5 million has been raised for the science complex.

Bethel College's physician assistant program was granted provisional accreditation on March 6, 2008. Provisional accreditation is the status granted for a deemed period of time to a new program that, at the time of the site visit, has demonstrated its preparedness to reinstate a program in accordance with the standards for PA education.

• In May, 357 seniors received diplomas from Carroll County's six secondary schools.
