Chamber of Commerce Wins Award in Marketing
The Chamber of Commerce was recognized in the March 2007 edition of the Chamber Executive Network newsletter.
The Chamber was featured for its recent "invest in the future of Carroll County, Shop Locally!" flyer. "We were very
pleased than CEN selected us to be spotlighted for the Chamber's effort to keep people shopping and supporting our
Carroll County businesses," said Cliff Sturdivant, Chairman of the Chamber Board.

Chamber's sharp Shop-Local postcard puts school taxes in perspective. CEN subscribers might want to take a closer look at the professionally-design postcard which the Carroll County Tennessee Chamber developed as a shop-local promotion. The glossy, oversize card (5.5 x 8.5 inches) features the message shown here with a bright red apple on the front. The reverse side has room for an address label, plus a photo of a school blackboard with these four bulleted points printed in chalk:
 • Spending your money in Carroll County is a smart investment because it helps our schools and our businesses.
• Shopping online or outside of Carroll County does not benefit our schools or students.
• In 2005, local sales tax dollars provided $390 per Carroll County student.
• Support local businesses, they support our schools.
Chamber Executive Brad Hurley says six school districts in the county receive local option sales tax payment son a per-student basis.
